Meet the Orphans

Chipoko

Species
White Rhino

Age on arrival
3 months old

Gender
Female

Why she came to us
Mother died in a poaching incident

Why we love her so much
She is a true fighter. She survived alone in the bush for 5 days with no milk, after her mom was poached.  Our independent little lady, who always gets her way, will often take herself away for a wallow without the others noticing.

Why she came to us
Mother died in a poaching incident

Why we love her so much
She is our little miracle (Miracle is Masingita in Tsonga, named by our female Black Mambas). Against all odds she has pulled through numerous medical obstacles, but despite this she still has a sweet and gentle nature.

Why he came to us
Mother died in a poaching incident

Why we love him so much
He is very special to us as he was the first orphan to arrive. He is a very chilled, relaxed and gentle rhino and he has a very special way of comforting all our new arrivals.
